« Party Like It's €1,999: Cheap wine tasting at MAKERPLATZ »

On Sept 30, we hosted another cheap wine tasting at Open Design City.  'Party Like It's €1,999' is a celebration of affordable wines and a chance for people to come together and discuss and discover new and very inexpensive favourites.

The best part of the evening for us was soliciting qualtitative (thanks, G.S.) responses from people, and posting them on the wall for everyone to see.

Thanks to Laura Brightwell and Sarah Clement for helping us guide people through the rather sophisticated process!

Also, we were very happy to be a part of the MAKERPLATZ celebrtion of maker & DIY culture centred in the Moritzplatz U-bahn vacinity.

Sept. 30th wines:

Louis des Vignes, 2009, France. From Kaiser's at €2,99. Definitely the evening favourite.  Some tasting notes: "Peppery, smooth." "Gym equipment, rocking horse, vanilla, ocean." "Peppermint tea from a bavarian beer mug with lid - a cat jumps on a cow."

Cepa Lebrel, 2009, Spain.  Bought at Lidl for €2,49. Second place. "Bad! beer please!" "Darker, heavy, strong - a boxer." Eating an apple underneath an oak tree in autumn; tumbling down".

BioBio Montepulciano D'Abruzzo, 2010, Italy.  Netto for €1,99.  An organic wine, but unfortunately a distant 3rd. "A robust Barney color with a fruity taste and acidic smell." "Wasswerfall in Indonesia." "Halloween blood, sharp like a vampire's bite."
