« beta Berlin »

The last few weeks have flown by, as we presented two projects at transmediale11: royalty f(r)ee and SVG2BVG (as Graffiti Research Lab Germany).  We couldn't have done it all without the many Berlin-based collaborators who we've met since arriving last year, including Open Design City et al, and of course the GRL Germany collective (you know who you are!).

It doesn't slow down, as next weekend, we'll be showing a beta test of SoniCity, as part of the Cognitive Cities Conference.  SoniCity is an ongoing research into creating sonic maps that unfold through time. By tracing paths in this way, the map reflects the complexity and transformation of the city as experienced through flow.

For Cognitive Cities, we will link conference locations through GPS, and transform the data into a sonic accompaniment for the participants’ travels to and from the various locations. A beta test of our Pure Data sound engine, SoniCity will be developed into a live Android application in 2011.
