« radical voku »

This past week we (gently) hijacked the (semi-) regular co-cooking event at Open Design City, and turned it into a testing ground for cooking with rhizomes.

We will be exploring this concept in more detail next winter, as part of our residency in Incheon, South Korea!

Situated within our project roots + wires, the idea is that by consuming rhizomatic, instead of arborescent, plant life, we will become less hierarchical, and be better able to deterritorialize.

We were able to source ginger, galengal, lotus, asparagus, bamboo (fresh & canned), cilantro, and fresh tumeric (which has since stained our fingers, utensils, and clothes), as well as a few arborescent items, such as rice noodles and tofu... but we couldn't find real wasabi.

Thanks to ODC and all who came out. Pics below.
